Missio Community Church grew out of a small group Bible study, Missio members began to build friendships with their neighbors through street basketball and block parties. Then other members from Caltech began reaching out to their Caltech labmates. We call this kind of outreaching small group a "missional community."

A vision began to form for a church that was made up of similar missional communities, which function as an extended family of Christians who are on mission together. We began to envision worship services that would be gatherings of the missional communities which would bear witness to God’s work in their neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools.

We are now building a multi-gifted leadership team that will model shared leadership.

The church currently meets as a missional community on Sunday evenings at 5:30pm at the home of Len & Amy Tang. A second missional community is currently being formed, and we plan to begin public worship in April 2017.
