Race and Place Pilgrimage
Pasadena Racial History Tour
Learning Pasadena’s racial history gives us incredible insight into today’s struggles, particularly around housing and schools - for instance you’l learn why there are only 23 public schools but 63 private schools in Pasadena, how the location of the 210 freeway was chosen, and why the Eaton fires disproportionately impacted Black families.
Our friends at the Center for Restorative Justice are hosting this “Race + Place” event on Saturday, March 14 from 9am-4pm. Normal cost is $80 but Missio is paying half the cost to encourage you to attend, so it’s only $40. To attend, please contact len[at]missiocc.org.
Face to Face
Face to Face is a space where we encounter God intimately in worship and speak to God just as Moses did, as one speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11). Come for a time of worship and prayer, as we spend some face-to-face, heart-to-heart time with God. Our theme will be turning in light of Lent. We’ll be meeting on Monday, March 10 @ 7:30pm at the Caltech Y (505 S Wilson Ave, Pasadena, CA 91106). Bring a friend!
Ash Wednesday Service
Our Ash Wednesday service at 7pm, marks the start of the season of Lent. It is a time to focus on repentance and spiritual renewal in Christ. Join us for a time of worship, optional imposition of ashes, and a practical workshop on developing a daily time with God.
